HOLA HABANA!
It's an honor to have been asked by the St. Petersburg Yacht Club to head down to capture the start of the St. Petersburg – Habana Race this year. The race was run from 1930 until 1958 when the relations between the US and Cuba soured. This year's revival saw a great turnout and is a sure sign that it will grow and be a race to watch next year. Check out the race results at Yacht Scoring.
SOUTHERNMOST JOURNEY – KEY WEST RACE WEEK
I had the unique opportunity to race onboard the latest TP52 – Interlodge – while in Key West. Sailing with such an accomplished group of sailors on such an impressive boat was truly a thrill. Check out the Sailing World cover and the photo essay in the new March / April issue of Sailing World out on stands now. This is just a sneak peek!
NEW WORK

BEAUTY AND THE BOAT
I'm really inspired by the shots from the 1st day here in Marblehead, Massachusetts for the Helly Hansen NOOD Regatta. It was a light day, but those are the days where you have to get creative. When wind is what you need to make the boats go fast and you haven't got it – it becomes more about capturing the mood and form. When I got back to land today and had the first look at what I shot I was reminded of how alluring sailing really is to me. I hope my images help people see the beauty and charm of this sport. Looking forward to shooting tomorrow. Keep scrolling to see a few more images from today...
SAILING ONBOARD RANGER
I jumped at the chance to get onboard with Ranger yesterday on their practice day for the Candy Store Cup Superyacht Regatta in Newport. Bookin' it out on the water with this crew was a thrill and the conditions couldn't have been more perfect... check out more images below.

WINDY CITY
Sunday proved to be an exciting day of racing at LVACS at Chicago's Navy Pier. Chicago lived up to its name - windy indeed. It was great to see Artemis (SWE) take their first win in the series. Check out more coverage of the races at Sailing World.
COME ON FEEL THE ILLINOISE
It's that time again — to pack up the gear and travel. It is always a challenge deciding what gear to haul. While I'm not looking forward to the lines through security in Chicago, I am super stoked to check out the Louis Vuitton America's Cup World Series Race (LVACWS). Hopefully the windy city lives up to its name and produces some knottage for an exciting race to photograph.
PORT IN A STORM
I admit it – I am a little bit guilty of being a storm chaser. Storms are fascinating to watch and photograph. The heavy storm systems that have been rolling through the Southeast this past week gave me the opportunity to test out my fresh new Nikon D500. After reading and watching many reviews and looking at the sample files that are out there floating around the internet – I was impressed. It has amazing dynamic range for a DX camera and very low noise. I was playing around really but caught this lightening strike without the use of a tripod shooting at about 10FPS. The shot is taken from the Savannah National Wildlife Refuge in Georgia. Despite the oppressing rain, thunder and lightening the Georgia Ports Authority cranes looked busy and weren't intimadated by Mother Nature.
DRIFTING INTO DARIEN
Earlier this week I decided to trek down to check out Darien, Georgia. It is an old maritime town settled by Scottish Highlanders in 1736. It was one of the largest ports on the East coast at one time – its largest exports being cotton and lumber. For that reason it was a target to union forces during the Civil War. Darien sits on the mouth of the Altamaha River about 50 miles south of Savannah.
